About the Course
The Butler Training School course is specifically tailored to teach the ground rules with a serious emphasis on the core principles that go to make up the butler's role, ranging from the care of fine clothes and footwear, the care of silver, cutlery and glassware, to setting the finest dining tables, as well as table manners, how to serve properly, dress and stand properly and how to interact with employers and guests. The intensive four day course aims to equip the trainee with solid basic knowledge which will become the stepping stones to gaining experience. Students will receive the schools Copyright training handbook, a compendium of over 150 pages of pertinent information which is exclusive to The Butler Training School and is available only in conjunction with the course.
The Butler Training School Certificate will be awarded for those successfully finishing the course.

Light refreshment and lunch is provided during the training days. The school is not residential.

Entry Requirements
The course is suitable for both ladies and gentlemen wishing to enter private service. A good understanding of English is essential.

About us
The Butler Training School is independent and private and is based in the South West of England in magnificent surroundings within an elegant and historically important mansion house set in attractive formal gardens and extensive parkland only a few miles from some of Britain’s most beautiful coastline. During the course students will have a unique opportunity to see parts of the house that are never open to the public, especially an almost original butler’s pantry.

The School was founded because of a firm commitment to the service industry and a strong belief in good customer service and the importance of manners, courtesy and social etiquette. The course director has been a butler for almost fourteen years and has a wealth of knowledge gained from experience in Britain and overseas; he is joined during the course by other trained professionals.

We butler for clients from all over the world in chalets, private summer residences, villas, country houses, shooting lodges, and at weddings, corporate events, dinner parties and anniversaries. We wear the traditional uniform of the British butler.
